Young Refugee Children: Their Schooling Experiences in the United States and in Countries of First Asylum

During this webinar, which discusses findings from a trio of papers examining the experiences of refugee children pre- and post-resettlement, researchers discuss the effects of their experiences on their mental health and education. The discussion focuses on pre-resettlement schooling gaps, the educational and mental health needs of Syrian refugee children, and the post-resettlement schooling experiences of Somali Bantu children once enrolled in a Chicago elementary school.
