Dear LA friends

Dear Philo–

On behalf of the Greater Los Angeles Homeless Count Team, we want to wish you and your families peace and happiness for the holidays.  It’s a time to reflect, rejoice and to make plans to strengthen our communities in the new year.   And while we enjoy this season of giving and gratitude, we recognize that not everyone has reason to celebrate.  Thousands of homeless men, women and children have no place to call home.

You can make a big difference in the effort to end homelessness by pledging a few hours of your time to the 2017 Greater Los Angeles Homeless Count, coming up January 24-26.  This annual census of our homeless neighbors is our critical effort to gather key information and understand the scope of homelessness across Los Angeles County– and this provides valuable information that helps us allocate resources where they will have the greatest impact.

Signing up to volunteer is easy at Once registered, you’ll receive information on your deployment site for the night and advance online training – to ensure that everyone has a safe, successful and meaningful experience.

From there, join us as a Homeless Count social media ambassador – using our pre-designed graphics for Facebook, Twitter and Instagram and #theycountwillyou – to spread the word and galvanize our effort!

Thanks to caring communities, we do not have to accept homelessness as an unsolvable problem.

So make volunteering for the Homeless Count your New Year’s Resolution – because everyone counts, no matter where they live…

– The Greater Los Angeles Homeless Count Team

Thanks for the info. I’m going to do it in an area that has homeless people this year. Hollywood is filled with homeless. Wanna join me? Marc
